Epilogue
No matter how many times I died and reset, Puppetmaster now appeared before me as a monster.
“Damn it, what am I supposed to do…?”
Without the Parasitic Sword Puppetmaster, I had no clue how to conquer the dungeon.
No, if I kept trying over and over, I might find a way to clear it without Puppetmaster.
But that would be meaningless.
My goal now isn’t to conquer the dungeon—it’s to make Puppetmaster human.
“Should I turn to the vampire Judith?”
She might know something about how to turn Puppetmaster human.
So, I considered contacting her—but then, that might make Ageha act.
The bad memory of Ageha suddenly appearing and killing Judith the moment I made contact with her came to mind.
It seems Ageha really hates me interacting with Judith.
“Then maybe I should rely on Ageha instead?”
I remembered trying to break Ageha’s seal before and getting killed without warning.
That memory made me strongly resistant to contacting her.
“But I can’t just do nothing,” I resolved.
With that decision, I walked straight toward my destination.
“…Found it.”
After stepping through the first teleportation circle, there was a sealed girl.
Inside the barrier, she was asleep, her body wrapped in chains of light.
No matter how many times I saw it, I couldn’t help but think how beautiful she looked sealed in that barrier.
“Last time, I broke the barrier easily,” I muttered, touching it.
Instantly, cracks formed, and with a sound like shattering glass, the barrier broke apart.
Her seal was undone.
At the same time, I took a big step back, distancing myself from her.
She might attack the moment she wakes up.
“Nn…”
Ageha let out a soft sigh, slowly opening her eyes.
“Who…?”
That was her first word.
I couldn’t help but widen my eyes.
“You don’t remember me?”
We’d met across various timelines, and her behavior made it clear she retained memories from other timelines, just like me.
So I assumed she’d remember me.
“Have we met somewhere? If so, I’m sorry. I can’t recall you,” she said.
“No, if you don’t remember, that’s fine,” I replied, secretly relieved. If she didn’t remember the past, that might actually be convenient.
“I know it’s strange to ask this of someone I just met, but can I ask you something?”
“Sure, ask me anything,” I said, nodding.
“Thank you,” she replied, then asked, “Do you know who I am?”
“…Huh?”
It took me a few seconds to process what she was saying.
It seemed the hero Ageha had lost her memories.
